11/21/01- I ended up pulling the heads off to find oil and anitfreeze between the gasket surfaces. Turns out I had a broken torque wrench, only torquing the bolts to about 5-10 ft/lbs. I got the top pretty much buttoned up. Hopefully, I can start it in the next couple of days.
11/24/01-I remembered I pulled a main and rod cap to inspect the bearings and I used my broken torque wrench. So I jacked up the motor and pulled the pan to tighten everything up.
I turned the key and it fired right up. No leaks, noises, etc. It runs perfect w/ that 180* thermostat. Now I just got to tune it.
12/15/01-Just had a safety test but to my surprise, I had to take an emissions test too. I was sure I was going to fail w/o an operating AIR injection system (no air tubes to cat or manifolds). But I passed w/ flying colors.
Here are the numbers and limits for MA emissions:
HC 0.21 limit-2.00
CO 3.38 limit-30.00
NOz 0.43 limit-3.00
CO2 171.12
